Membrane element inlet sealing ring not sealing properly

Remove the membrane element from the membrane housing and reinstall it, ensuring that the permeate O-ring is inserted into the permeate end of the membrane housing and the inlet Y-ring is tightly fitted to the inner wall of the membrane housing.

Replace the membrane element, or install or replace the carbon filter.

Household membrane elements are susceptible to microbial contamination. To check for microbial contamination, remove the element from its casing, observe both ends, and smell it. Element contaminated with microorganisms usually emits an unpleasant odor. Replace the membrane element or install or replace the filter cartridge.

Scale

Remove the component from its casing and squeeze it with your hand. If it makes a sound like it’s full of sand, it’s highly likely that there’s a scaling problem. Replace the membrane element and check the brine seal.
