JOZZON Accelerates Its International Expansion

Recently, a delegation of Kuwaiti royal family members visited Dongying, Shandong Province, for a specialized inspection tour focused on seawater desalination, with the aim of exploring potential collaboration opportunities with JOZZON  in desalination technology and industrialization. Senior representatives of Shandong JOZZON Membrane Technology Co., Ltd. accompanied the delegation throughout the visit, engaging in in-depth exchanges on the company’s core products, engineering case studies, full-industry-chain capabilities, technological strengths, and cooperative intent — laying a solid foundation for future partnership.

The Princess and Prince led a business delegation to Jozzon

As a high-tech enterprise originating from the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, JOZZON  possesses deep expertise in the manufacturing of water treatment membrane elements and the integration of water purification systems. With over a decade of dedication to the desalination and reverse osmosis membrane sector, JOZZON has undertaken a significant number of international projects since 2009, when it secured several major contracts in West Africa. Over the past 16 years, the company has successively delivered a wide range of water treatment projects across diverse industries in the Middle East, West Africa, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and South America — covering demineralized water systems, seawater desalination, and reclaimed water reuse. It was against this backdrop that the Princess and Prince led a business delegation to JOZZON for an in-depth exploration of prospective cooperation.

The technical advantages of its high-flux seawater desalination RO membranes

During the visit, JOZZON  provided the royal delegation with a comprehensive overview of its full value chain — spanning from raw material non-woven fabrics to reverse osmosis membrane components, and further to system engineering integration. The company showcased its portfolio of high-performance products, including seawater desalination RO membrane elements and industrial low-energy RO membrane elements, with particular emphasis on the technical advantages of its high-flux seawater desalination RO membranes. Through innovative manufacturing processes, these membranes achieve a synergistic enhancement of high flux, superior stability, and strong environmental adaptability — a “black-tech membrane” solution that precisely addresses the core needs of water-scarce regions.

The Kuwaiti royal delegation visited relevant desalination project sites and conference venues

Throughout the inspection, the Kuwaiti royal delegation visited relevant desalination project sites and conference venues, with a focus on understanding JOZZON’s technological applications and industrialization outcomes in the seawater desalination sector.

Offer the delegation a more tangible view of its technical capabilities

JOZZON  presented its engineering case studies to offer the delegation a more tangible view of its technical capabilities. These ranged from the demineralized water station of the Phase 5 Jurassic Gas Field project in northern Kuwait, and the full-membrane demineralized water system for the Zanazhol Oilfield in Kazakhstan, to domestic landmark projects such as the demineralized water station for PetroChina’s first ethylene-from-ethane plant. By consistently winning bids for key domestic and international projects through its core technological advantages and proven engineering quality, JOZZON has firmly established its technological leadership in the specialty membrane separation industry.

Advancing energy structure reforms

Notably, the demineralized water station for Kuwait’s Phase 5 Jurassic Gas Field project, undertaken by JOZZON, employs a full-membrane treatment process consisting of “two-pass reverse osmosis + EDI” to produce high-purity demineralized water. This project represents a key initiative under the “Kuwait National 2040 Vision” aimed at advancing energy structure reforms. It is also a strategic production priority for 2022–2023 under Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and its parent entity, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). Upon completion, the project will support the growing demand for natural-gas-fired power generation, accelerate the development and utilization of Kuwait’s domestic natural gas resources, facilitate the transition toward a cleaner energy mix, reduce carbon emissions, lessen the economy’s dependence on crude oil revenues, and alleviate the current reliance on natural gas imports

During the exchange, the Kuwaiti royal delegation expressed strong recognition of JOZZON’s technological innovation capabilities, full-industry-chain layout, and extensive hands-on engineering experience. The two sides engaged in substantive discussions on the application of desalination membrane technologies and regional water resource utilization. Notably, Kuwait is actively advancing its “Vision 2035,” which identifies “sustainable infrastructure” as one of its core pillars, with explicit commitments to investing in renewable energy and efficient water-power production and consumption — key measures to overcome resource constraints and achieve economic diversification.

JOZZON  is well-aligned with these developmental needs. As a coastal nation facing acute water scarcity, Kuwait has an urgent demand for seawater desalination. JOZZON is poised to leverage its technological strengths and industrialization capabilities to deliver customized membrane-based desalination solutions for Kuwait — encompassing membrane element supply, system integration, and technical cooperation across multiple dimensions — thereby contributing to the construction of a robust local water security system and injecting Chinese technological expertise into the realization of Kuwait’s national development vision.

This inspection and exchange not only afforded the Kuwaiti royal delegation a comprehensive understanding of JOZZON’s core competitiveness, but also established an efficient communication bridge for bilateral cooperation. This technical partnership dialogue also serves as a significant conduit for cultural and technological exchange between China and Kuwait. Moving forward, both sides will continue to advance cooperation negotiations, with the expectation of reaching substantive agreements in the seawater desalination sector — bringing JOZZON’s superior technologies and products to the international market, contributing Chinese capabilities to the sustainable utilization of global water resources, and facilitating broader dissemination of Chinese culture in the Middle East through the bridge of technological collaboration.
